About Us

Dr. Frank D. Butler Jr.

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1980, Dr. Butler spent a year at Fort Benning, GA in a general dental practice residency with the US Army. The residency was equivalent to at least five years of private practice experience based on the volume of pts and various dental problems encountered. He was mentored one-on-one with a senior dental officer, usually a colonel, and more often a diplomat, from one of nine specialty boards. The Army deploys highly trained dentists to isolated areas around the world. Dr. Butler served and treated soldiers in a one-dentist clinic in Korea.

After his active duty assignment, Dr. Butler opened a private practice in 1987 in College Park, GA. Dr. Butler's quest for clinical excellence has led him on a journey to exceptional dental teaching institutes, like the world-renowned Pankey Institute and the continuing education departments at the University of Alabama, the Medical College of Georgia School of Dental Medicine, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. In his free time, Dr. Butler enjoys cycling, boating, and other fitness activities.

"Dentistry is like everything else, constantly changing and incorporating technology. You have to continue learning or you'll get left behind."

Dr. Butler has completed training and become certified in implant dentistry through a nine-month dental implant residency, which emphasized implant site selection, preparation, and placement of implants. AS well, Dr. Butler has been restoring implants for many years.

"Implants are the 'new era' of dentistry. They give patients a second change to achieve a smile they initially never had for various reasons, including trauma, neglect, or family history of disease. Now, with implants and other advanced dental techniques, we can reconstruct your smile using a full mouth dental makeover. Also, implants let us anchor the constantly moving, unstable lower denture to your jaw, which allows you to put raw foods, like apples, carrots, and nuts, back into your diet. We want you to smile. Book an appointment with Dr. Butler to discuss your dental implant needs."
